In the new season, the key feature of Joint Operation: Abyss Mode will switch between Heat Curse Bubbles and Cold Curse Bubbles. We have switched to Heat Curse Bubble mode today, and received feedback about the high difficulty and long clearance time. That is why I'm here with this tutorial guide for your conquest of the new Abyss mode! Choose the weapons of Cold Tide or Heat Surge styles wisely to counter the corresponding Curse Bubbles and defeat the enemies in a flash!

Cold Tide Style
Clear the Tidal Siren in Joint Operation: Abyss Mode and you can enter the vortex for the next stage of the challenge.
In this stage, Curse Bubbles will evolve into two forms: Heat Curse Bubbles and Cold Curse Bubbles. When facing enemies with Heat Curse Bubbles, you must enhance your Tidal Heart for more Tidal Points, and unlock the Cold Tide Style in the Tidal Network.
With weapons such as HMG, Heavy Sniper Rifle, Freeze Gun, Saw Launcher, or Laser Gun, you can activate the Power of Cold Tide.
At this time, you can clear Heat Curse Bubbles more efficiently with your weapon attacks. Once the Tidal Heart reaches a certain level, you can unlock slots for Weapon Licenses, and equip them to activate more enhancement nodes. I suggest you prioritize nodes that directly increase DMG, so as to further enhance your weapon DMG and reduce your clearance time.
Attention, everyone! Make sure that the Weapon License you choose is the one for your main DPS Character's best weapon!
Heat Surge Style
The enemies you face could also be with Cold Curse Bubbles. Activate the Heat Surge style for the Power of Heat Surge to defeat enemies enchanted by Cold Curse Bubbles.
Weapons can be infused with the Power of Heat Surge including Flame Shot, Boxing Gun, Combo Shotgun, Bazooka, Bow, and Gatling.
With the Power of Heat Surge, you can clear Cold Curse Bubbles more efficiently with your weapon attacks. With a Weapon License, you can further enhance the DMG of the corresponding weapon.
You may obtain S2 Cores in the Abyss. Season Cores grant enhanced abilities in Joint Operation: Abyss Mode and Abyssal Rift when equipped!
The Seasonal Cores come with curse-breaking affixes, with which Weapon DMG to Curse Bubbles will be slightly increased. The more such Cores you equip, the stronger your curse-breaking ability! Hurry up and unlock more stages to get the Seasonal Cores!
Conclusion
- The countering relationship between Cold Tide and Heat Surge weapons and Curse Bubbles is very important. Always choose a weapon that counters the Curse Bubble you face to significantly increase your DPS.
- In Joint Operation: Abyss Mode, your basic combat attributes mainly relate to your Abyss Scores and are not affected by your Power. Therefore, weapon level has a lesser impact on your DPS; as long as it is a countering weapon, you can pick it for battle. But Core effects are still valid in this mode, so don't forget to equip Cores on your weapons!
- In Joint Operation: Abyss Mode, there are more factors other than Cores affecting your DMG, such as: Weapon Quality, Weapon Star Level, Character Promotion, Core Level, and Armament Level, etc. Now, organize your arsenal and prepare for the combat underwater!
If you want to clear Joint Operation: Abyss Mode faster and get more rewards, you can prepare more sets of Cores for Cold Tide and Heat Surge weapons. Also, communicate with your teammates in the lobby, so that you can equip different countering weapons with different Debuffs. That'll take your team's DMG to the next level!
